how do you explain beauty to a blind child?

mandy said it was one of the questions asked in the Miss World 2007. yeah, it is an interesting question. tangibly, the word beauty would mean nothing to a blind person. even more a blinded as a child.

a dictionary reply would be: (Physical) an attractive and appealing to the eye feature or advantage- Oxford Dictionary
that would not really apply to a blind person. you know, with the appealing to the eye and all. pfft... whats the use of eyes of a blind person, crying? hahaha. joke.... and bad joke....

another meaning from the same dictionary is: the quality of being very pleasing to the senses.
that is pretty close. i'm sure a blind man can see that.

.... feel that.

so when mandy asked then, when i had nooooo idea it was a beauty pageant question i simply quipped with:

something that gives warmth to the heart
and spreads a smile upon the face.
it gives one a sense of appreciation for oneself
everything and everyone else.






so do i win the pageant now? :D
